After moving to the new shelter, Goose was given a fitness check, which showed him to be “exceptionally healthy.” They knew that having a 20-year-old cat, Goose, spend his golden years in a shelter environment was detrimental to the well-being of a cat his age.
Shortly after Gus arrived at the shelter, the shelter director received an unexpected call. It was from a family looking for a companion pet for their aging mother. More precisely, what they are looking for is the specialty of being an adoptable senior cat.
The family explained that their 101-year-old mother, Penny, had recently lost her cat, and they gave her a stuffed fake cat to cuddle instead, but she wasn’t happy with it because she wasn’t a real cat cuddly.
The photo of the old lady and her dead senior cat has such a mutual love bond.
Crews were cautious because of the ages of all parties, but the family said they wanted to take care of the cat, named Goose, for his mother’s sake.
The pair were meant to be together and Goose is already fitting in wonderfully in his new home. This sweet lady lived this long to find this chick and give her love for the rest of their lives. They are so selfless.
We are so happy that this lady got that senior cat, she really loves him and he is a lovely animal who deserves her love.
