This gave not only the man, but also the dog a chance to say goodbye…!
It is clear that true love is the greatest happiness one can have.
Former Marine John Vincent, joined the Navy as a young man and served three years, including time in Vietnam. He grew up on a farm in Montana.
But at the age of 96, he was an orphan without a family. He only had a beloved dog named Patch as a family member. So for him, Patch was his life. The two will ride on Vincent’s Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Then Patch puts on his own goggles. After Vincent retired to New Mexico, the two went for walks every night. They had a wonderful bond.
Shelter dogs like Patch are truly unique. Perhaps because of the hardships and loneliness they have endured, when adopting such a dog, you become his life.
John Vincent never thought of leaving his beloved dog alone. But he was unable to take care of Patch as he grew old and weak. Therefore, he had to be temporarily transferred to an animal shelter, albeit reluctantly.
However, John’s time to live was running out. When asked what his last wish was, he said he wanted to see and hug his pet dog Patch for the last time. The trustees took care to do everything they could to make this meeting a reality.
Patch’s final encounter with John was so emotional that it made everyone’s heart stop for a moment. “Yeah, it’s me…it’s dad…” John said as Patch licked his face. – Are you glad to meet me? I am very glad to see you.
It was a heartfelt goodbye, as Danny put it. Moreover, it was a touching moment! “They were overjoyed to finally meet to say goodbye. I am honored to fulfill the last wishes of a veteran.” He said.
According to the shelter, he will join his new home soon after his beloved owner dies. Hope he has happy days like he did with John.
Surely, John, who is smiling in heaven, is also hoping that someone will love and care for this sweet little boy as much as he does!
God bless you!
