Mads Nordsveen, a wildlife photography enthusiast, was walking near Oslo one day when he spotted a very rare baby white deer. She is extremely rare and very beautiful, never seen before! This baby looks like it’s made of snow. She is a snow deer!
Nordsveen shares: “He got very close to me and we looked directly at each other. After a few minutes the mother of the white deer came out from behind the trees. It walked around for a few minutes and ran back to its mother. It was very magical and a fairy tale.”
These cute white reindeer have been stripped of pigment from their fur due to a rare genetic mutation, allowing them to blend in with their snowy white surroundings. But they are different from albinos. This is because their horns and eyes still have dark pigments.
Mother Nature is always amazing! How amazing is her output? This wonderful pup is just one example of that.
