DOES GOD LOVE US EACH PERSONALLY?

God blesses us all in different ways. Have you ever had a twinge of jealousy when your friend tells you of something good happening in their life? It can leave you wishing it was happening to you. Sometimes, it’s something we have been praying for in our own lives, and it is hard to see another blessed with it while we are not.

Jesus loves you.

“God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, that whoever believes in Him shall not die, but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

I know it. I believe it. I’ve banked my future on it. But “the world” isn’t very personal, is it? Does God love me personally? Again, I know the right answer, but sometimes it is easy to feel like one of the crowd. It helps me to remember that, as a mom and grandma, I love all my kids.

God loves us so much, and because He is all-knowing, He knows what is best. He can see in His infinite wisdom what will be best for our lives and what will further our walk with Him. He knows how to strengthen our souls and make our hearts glad! God knows us better than we know ourselves. Who could know us better than the one that created us.

The question of whether God loves us – personally and individually – is common. Surrounded by the conditional love of finite humanity, we cannot easily comprehend that God would love us. We know our faults. We know that God is perfect and sinless. We know that we are not. Why would God, who is infinite and holy, love us, who are finite and sinful? And yet the great truth of the gospel is that He does! Time and again, Scripture reminds us of God’s love for us.

So the simple answer is, “yes.” Yes, God loves you! As hard as it may be to believe, it is the truth.

JESUS LOVES YOU

“Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”(Ephesians 5:1-2)

“You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.(Psalm 56:8)

“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.”(1 John 3:16)
