HOW MANY HEAVENS DOES THE BIBLE TALK

Just like some religions claim that there is more than one way to Heaven, others claim that there are different heavens for different people depending on your acts on this Earth. But What does the Bible say? The Bible does mention three heavens, but what are those heavens?
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”
(Genesis 1:1
)

1st heaven

The first heaven is the atmosphere above us. It is where eagles soar, clouds gather, and rainbows form.

Bible verses below

LORD, when you went out of Seir , when you marched out of the field of Edom, the earth trembled, and the heavens dropped, the clouds also dropped water(Judges 5:4)

The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season(Deut 28:12)

“Beside them the birds of the heavens dwell; they sing among the branches.” (Psalm 10:12)

2nd heaven

The second heaven is where moon, sun, stars and the planets are; the outer space.

Bible verses below

In the heavens he has pitched a tent for the sun. Its rising is from one end of the heaven and its circuit to the other end(Psalms 19:4,6)

“When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?” (Psalm 8:3-4)

3rd heaven

The third heaven is the place where God dwells. Of course, we know that He is everywhere and cannot be contained in any specific geographical location. Still, the Bible says that God resides in this undisclosed location along with the Heavenly Hosts. Heaven is also described as “the presence of the Lord.”

Bible verses below
“See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 18:10)

“Now the point in what we are saying is this: we have such a high priest, one who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven,” (Hebrews 8:1)

In conclusion, when we read God’s Word, there are three heavens mentioned, but they all have different meanings. Nowhere does the Bible say that there will be different levels of heaven according to our works because it is ONLY by Christ’s work on the cross that we will be there. There will be a new heaven and a new Earth, and all who believe will be in God’s presence for eternity! What a wonderful day that will be!
