Is Jesus your savior? Who is Jesus? His miracles and teaching had people asking that 2,000 years ago. Some were saying a prophet, some a hoax, others unsure. Jesus asked His followers their opinion, and confirmed what Peter declared: “You are the Messiah, the Son of the Living God!” Messiah meant the Chosen Savior. What do you think? We all know we need saving deep down, but is Jesus really able–and willing–to save you? And what does being saved really mean?
JESUS WANTS TO SAVE YOU
Let me tell you about Jesus. The coolest person ever. He was born from a virgin as God’s Son, sent to save us from our sins and give us a clear picture of God. But instead of being judgmental, He was loving. One time a woman was going to be killed for cheating on her husband. But Jesus stepped in and saved her, just out of compassion. He said, “God did not send His Son into the world to condemn its people. He sent Him to save them!” This passion led Him to die for everyone who would believe in Him, so that we could be forgiven of our sins. You see, as God’s perfect Son, He is the only one who could do that. But after He died, God raised Him back to life to show Jesus has complete power over all sin and death. And He is going to collect all His followers at the end of time and take them to Heaven. All He asks is that you believe and follow Him.
OUR WALK WITH GOD WON’T ALWAYS BE EASY
In fact, it will likely be painful and difficult at times. God encourages us to persevere just like Jesus. (Hebrews 12:1-2)says, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”
