Again, you can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something – your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.(Steve Jobs)
Life is full of choices. In fact, you had to make a choice to even start reading this devotion! So, the issue is not the mere act of making choices itself, but rather learning how to make not just good choices or better choices, but the best choices. Please understand that you will make mistakes. None of us are perfect. The key is to gain wisdom and biblical insight from each stumbling block and turn it into a stepping stone to a greater future.
Always put God first
We must remember to keep Jesus first. Pray consistently. Invite Him into all of your doings. Consider Him before making decisions. It is through Him that you can do all things.
“And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” (Mathew 22:37-40)
I have God’s Word
Everything I need of comfort and help, and everything I need to become perfect, I find in Bible.
I think about Jesus who lived by these Words when He was human like I am. It was His food to do God’s will. I must use the opportunity I have today to follow in His footsteps. I read some lines in the Bible and get the courage to start the day with a strong conviction about God’s will.
Learning opportunities
The temptation to compare our lives to our younger selves can be overwhelming. But when we trust God to give us His best, we can look forward in confidence rather than backward in longing.
Our relationship with God deepens as we learn to trust Him with the changes we’re dealing with, knowing that He has a purpose for every stage of life and every experience (1 Corinthians 2: 9-10).
