You may have heard of Kaavan, the “loneliest elephant in the world”. Rather than living happily in the wild like other elephants, he had to spend almost his entire life in captivity. But thanks to Cher, Kaavan is now very happy and healthy in his new home. She cares and loves him so well.
He is a 36-year-old elephant who spent many years in a Pakistani zoo. But DAA has closed it due to mismanagement. He weighs only 9,000 pounds and is severely malnourished. Kaavan has weakened over time and also suffers from neglect, depression and various medical problems. So he relieves his boredom by shaking his head frequently.
In addition to his health problems, he was also mentally and brutally tortured after the death of his girlfriend. Keeping her body near him for days took a toll on Kaavan. Indeed, it would be difficult for anyone to bear it.
He doesn’t have a girlfriend or friends or anyone who really cares about him. So he is isolated. It’s really sad!
But luckily for him, animal advocates worked hard to find Kaavan a new home where he could be healthy and happy. As a result, popular pop icon Cher stepped in to support it. She started a program to save Kaavan and received a lot of support.
Later, Cher decided to meet Prime Minister Imran Khan. He promised to move Kaavan to a reserve and make a documentary about Kaavan’s story.
How precious is it for this lonely poor elephant to receive such help? At least he can believe that the rest of his life will be better.
