The rescued lion cub, now fully grown, but he can’t sleep without his favorite blanket!

It is essential for all wild animals in the world to roam freely in the wild. They cannot be kept in small cages. But the unfortunate situation is that many animals are not allowed to be free in their forest habitats and are kept in separate places.

Fortunately, many of these animals were rescued in time. Animal lovers should be thankful for that.

One of these kind animal lovers is Vicky Keahey, founder of In-Sync Exotics Wildlife Rescue and Educational Center. Vicky and her team have rescued a huge number of animals over the years. There was a wonderful majestic lion encountered during those rescues. He is Lambert.

When Lambert’s rescuers found him in 2014, he was in a terrible condition. Lambert was more like a weak puppy than a strong lion because he was very hungry. The man who bought the lion cub illegally kept him as a pet and then decided that the man didn’t want the lion, so he abandoned the lion.

“The previous owners obtained him illegally as a pet for their young children,” Angela Culver, media director at the In-Sync Exotics Wildlife Rescue told Bored Panda.

After a very short time, Lambert’s adoptive family decided they could no longer keep him and notified the rescue agency. They were very happy about it. After Lambert is brought to the rescue center, he is confused and scared, and slowly he wins the hearts of the others and comes back to normal.

They found Lambert the lion cub seeking his sleep by lying in a blanket and he couldn’t sleep without it. “We heard from the previous owners that he slept in the bed with Grandpa, so I brought him a blanket and went into the cabin and put the blanket in one corner.” Vicky told The Dodo.

Then every day he found the blanket and curled up on it to sleep. Thanks to the efforts of the rescue team, Lambert has now made a full recovery. Even though he’s now a full-grown lion, Lambert still needs a blanket before going to bed.

“He has 7,000 sq. ft. worth of space to run around in, which includes a covered den area for shade and protection from the weather and a sunny, grassy playground with the pool he loves to play in,” Angel

“He is just like any other 2 year-old lion in that he is active and playful, and is full of cattitude. You know where you stand with him.” Culver said.
